John Marsden was born in 1813 in Thornhill, Parish of Hope, Derbyshire, and was christened at St. Peter's Church, Hope, Derbyshire on 1 November 1813, the son of Jonathon Marsden and Martha (Wilson) Marsden^[1][2]

John Marsden died on 24 May 1891 in Thornhill, Derbyshire and was buried at St. Peter's Church, Hope, Derbyshire. His Will was proved on 15 September 1891 in Derby, Derbyshire by his nephew, farmer, Alfred Rose the sole executor^[3][4][5]
