Moved to Hartford, VT in 1767. He saw considerable service in the Revolution War. He was in a company of militia under command of Capt. Joshua Hazen in 1780, which marched to Brookfield, MA, on the Alarm of October (See Vermont Historical Society's Collection ) from History & Genealogies of the Hammond Family in America Vol 2

02 August 1821 they completed John 's probate when land in Waitsfield, Washington, Vermont was divided 2/3 to John Marsh and 1/3 to Cynthia Tenney.
