Biography

Della Marsh Kelly age 82, of 3423 Drury Street, Tallahassee, Florida died Sunday, October 31, 1971 in Tallahassee, FL and was buried Wednesday, November 2, 1971 at Oakland Cemetery, Tallahassee, FL.

Della Marsh Kelly was born April 16, 1889 in Georgia. Her parents were James Robert Sterling Marsh and Annie Missouri Griffin Marsh. She married Jiles K. Kelly November 10,1908 in Leon County, Florida. Her father James Marsh was their witness.

She was a member of the United Pentecostal Church. Funeral services was held at the United Pentecostal Church at 11:00 A.M. on Wednesday November 3, 1971 with the Rev. Robert C. McKiethen officiating.

Burial was in the Oakland Cemetery. J. A. Culley and Sons in charge of arrangements. Pallbearers were Lee Kelly, Buford Kelly, Robert Earl Holland, Harper Revell, Lowrey Raley and Charlie Abbott. Honorary pallbearers were the Deacons of the United Pentecostal Church.

Surviving two sons, Monroe Lee Kelly and Oliver Kelly, both of Tallahassee; one daughter, *Ruby Pauline Kelly Connell (Howard) of Tallahassee; and one brother, Lonnie Lawrence Marsh of Monticello, Florida; also 14 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, James Robert Sterling Marsh and Annie Missouri Griffin Marsh. Her husband Jiles K. Kelly and her son Howard Clinton Kelly (died January 13, 1970) and all of her brothers and sisters except Lonnie.

James Sterling Marsh was the witness at Della Marsh Kelly's wedding Nov. 10, 1908 to Jiles K. Kelly, in Leon County, Florida. However, James Marsh was not found in the 1910 or later census.
