Samuel Marsh Sr was born on 18 May 1761 in Thompson, Windham Co., CT. [1] He was the son of Zebediah Marsh, b. in 1734 in Salem, Essex, Massachusetts and Mary Coates, b. 31 Jul 1739 in Dudley, Worcester, Massachusetts.
