John Marsh came from England to Hartford, Conn., in 1636. He removed to Hadley, Mass., as one of its first settlers and thence to Northampton, Mas.,s and again to Hartford, Conn., where he died 1680. He married 1665 Anne Webster, born in England, daughter of John Webster who came from England and settled in Hartford, Conn., in 1636. Mrs. Anne Marsh died June 2, 1662 Their son Jonathan Marsh born 1650; married 1676, Dorcas, widow of Azariah Dickinson of Hadley. Jonathan Marsh died July 30, 1730. Mrs. Dorcas Marsh died August 15, 1723 aged sixty nine. Children: Dorcas Marsh born December 29, 1677; married July 1700, Ichabod Porter. She died 1746.(p. 21)
