Biography

Ethel (Marshall) Norton was born in Middlesex, England.

Ethel Marshall was born at 53 York Road, St Pancras, Middlesex in 1903. She was the daughter of Frank Marshall and Harriet Girling. ^[1]

In 1911, Ethel was living with her parents and four siblings in St Pancras St Judes Gray's Inn Road, Middlesex. She was 8-years-old and attending school. ^[2]

In 1920, Ethel emigrated to Canada with her mother and three siblings (Frank, Beatrice and Rosina). Their ship the Empress of France arrived in Quebec City, Ontario, in July that year. ^[3]

On 14th May 1921, Ethel married William Norton. The marriage took place in Picton, Prince Edward, Ontario. ^[4]

In 1935, Ethel was residing at 77 Buckingham Street, Oshawa, Ontario. ^[5]

In 1949, Ethel was residing at 323 Verdun Road, Oshawa, Ontario. ^[6]

Ethel passed away in 1980 and was buried in Mount Lawn Memorial Gardens in Whitby, Durham, Ontario. ^[7] She was buried across from her daughter, Violet Irene Norton Blodgett.
