Biography

William Martin was born Aug. 25, 1803 in Hopewell Cape, Albert, New Brunswick, Canada. William married Jane Milton April 28, 1825 in Westmorland, New Brunswick. [1] They had 11 children (see Jane's profile).

1851 Census, William is age 48, living in Harvey, Albert, NB.[2]

1861 Census, William is age 58, now living in Alma, Albert, NB.. still with Jane age 58, plus 4 of their children are living with them.[3] [4]

1871 Census, William is now age 68 (not 65), still with Jane and it appears that Suphronia (now 18yrs old) is their daughter the youngest of and the last of their breu, living with them in Alma.[5]

1881 Census, William is now age "78"(not 77), still with his wife Jane now age "78" (not 79) as well. They and their daughter Suphronia are now living in the household of Samuel Martin and his wife and children, in Alma.[6]

William passed away some time after April of 1881 and definitely before 1891 in Alma, Albert, New Brunswick.
