A man of many talents. He could play the guitar, the accordion, the harmonica, the hammer and saw, the auto wrench, the rifle, the fishing pole, the shotglass, the dancefloor and the helm.
He was friendly and social. Though I am told by my sister he didn't want children, I am glad he did.
My greatest regret in life was to not take him up on the one time offer of going fishing. A close second, was not to attend the funeral of his mother.
My father was a handsome young man who seemed to enjoy wooing the girls. This led to some problems and flirtations with death, but in the end landed him, what I hope was a good life.
He was an auto mechanic with his step-father and ended up serving in Korea in the conflict as a sharp shooter. He married my mother, had 4 children, then married my stepmother and raised her three children.
He worked for Pacific Bell as a lineman for many many years and this is the job he retired from.
In the middle of their marriage, he took over the responsibility of me, my brother and sisters, and had a family of 9 to provide for.
My father bought some property near Downieville California, Bullard's Bar area, Unfortunately, he grew frustrated with the thieves in the area and gave it up.
His dream was to travel in a fifth wheel, unfortunately, he grew sick with a type of Leukemia, and died before he was able to live his dream.
