Birth

Jacob was born on the 6th of Feb 1793 in Fayette City, Pennsylvania. He was the son of Daniel Martin and Elizabeth Wynne.

Died, at his residence in Pleasant District, on the 13th inst., Jacob B. Martin, aged 87 years 3 months and 9 days. “Father” Martin was one of the soldiers of the War of 1812.

Marriage

Jacob married Mary Metheny from Virginia.[1] They had several children:

  1. Jane, born 1830.[1]
  2. Jacob Jackson, born 1832.[1]
  3. Benjamin F , born 1835.[1]
  4. Mary, born 1839.[1]
  5. Margaret, born 1842.[1]
  6. Lucinda, born 1844.[1]

Occupation

The 1850 census lists Jacobs occupation as a farmer. His farm in Virginia at that time was valued at 1,000 dollars.[1]

Death

Jacob passed away on 13 May 1880 in Preston, Virginia at the age of eighty-seven.
