Lydia Martin was born March 6, 1773 near Hartford, Connecticut, the daughter of Robert Martin and Elizabeth (Lewis) Martin. Tradition says her maternal grandmother lived to the age of 114, a member of the Hartford Pratt family, some of whom pioneered to New York State, and it was while visiting at their home that Lydia came to know Philip Cody. [1]They married 1795 in New York and had the following children:
Lydia was the grandmother of William Frederick Cody, better known as Bufalo Bill.
Lydia died in April 1846 in Ohio. She is buried at Lake View Cemetery, Cleveland, Cuyahoga County, Ohio, USA. [2]
Lydia was born about 1761. She passed away about 1846.
