His age was given as 39, implying a birth date 1871 or 1872.
His birthplace was given as Berwick upon Tweed.
He was a stationer and sub-postmaster, operating Bampton's post office.
It was stated that Robert and Marion had been married for 9 complete years and had had 3 children together, who were all still living.
