LUELLA JUNE (Widow of Walter) North Musekgon Mrs. Luella June Kieft, age 83, passed away Wednesday afternoon, April 17, 2002 in North Muskegon, MI. She was born June 19, 1918 in Petoskey, MI to Fred E. and Chloe May (Ludlow) Martin and lived in the Muskegon area most of her life. On March 28, 1937, she married Walter A. Kieft in Muskegon and he preceded her in death on April 19, 1988. Prior to retirement, she worked as a nurses aide for Brookhaven Medical Care Facility, Hackley Hospital, and Hillcrest Nursing Centre. She was a charter member of Laketon Bethel Reformed Church and was very active in the church all of her life. She was also active with the Muskegon Creative Writing Group contributing articles and poetry and she enjoyed knitting afghans. SURVIVORS include 4 children, Martin (Sharon) Kieft of Muskegon, Carol (Robert) Hanson of Phoenix, AZ, Kathleen (Ed) Eriksen of Wyoming, MI, Dennis Kieft of Muskegon; 12 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by 8 brothers and 2 sisters; and her step-mother who raised her, Augusta Truax. FUNERAL SERVICES will be 3:00 PM Friday, April 19, 2002 at Laketon Bethel Reformed Church, 1568 W. Giles Rd., with the Rev. Sherwin Bransten officiating. INTERMENT will take place at Laketon Township Cemetery. VISITATION with Mrs. Kieft's family will be one hour prior to the service, 2-3 PM Friday at the church.
