JOHN MARTIN

John C. Martin, 98 of Decatur died at 5:25 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 11, 1995 in McKinley Terrace in Decatur.

Services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday in the Anglin Funeral Home in Dover, Tenn, with visitation from 4 to 8 tonight (Monday). Burial will be in the Murrary City Cemetery. The McMullin-Young Funeral Home in Bethany is in charge of local arrangements.

Born May 7, 1986 in Stewart County, Tenn., he was a son of Reuben Elexander and Victorine Sexton Martin. He retired from the A. E. Staley Co., in Decatur and was a member of the Standing Rock Methodist Church in Stewart County, Tenn. He was an Army veteran of World War I and received the 75th anniversary commemorative medal. He married Martha McGee Jan 5, 1919 in Stewart County, Tenn., and she died July 23, 1981.

Survivors include daughters, Martha Louise Harnish of Decatur and Mrs. Darrell (Virginia) Weakly of Bethany; four grandchildren; and eight great-grand children.

Two brothers and three sisters preceded him in death.
