When Emaliza Martin was born on 10 March 1823, in Whitley, Kentucky, United States, her father, William Charles Martin, was 37 and her mother, Elizabeth Gatliff, was 32. She married John Rains on 26 February 1847, in Whitley, Kentucky, United States. They were the parents of at least 6 sons and 6 daughters. She lived in Kentucky, United States in 1870 and Williamsburg, Whitley, Kentucky, United States in 1880. She died on 13 March 1897, in Yaden, Whitley, Kentucky, United States, at the age of 74, and was buried in Carr Cemetery, Yaden, Whitley, Kentucky, United States. [1]
