Leonard was born about 1687. [1] There seems to be no evidence that he was son of John Martin and Elizabeth Howe (who apparently spent their whole lives in Connecticut).

DNA Connections
It may be possible to confirm family relationships with Leonard by comparing test results with other carriers of his Y-chromosome or his mother's mitochondrial DNA.
However, there are no known yDNA or mtDNA test-takers in his direct paternal or maternal line.
It is likely that these autosomal DNA test-takers will share some percentage of DNA with Leonard:
I have marked John Martin and Elizabeth Howe as "uncertain" parents. There seems to be no good source showing that they had a son named Leonard, and they always lived in Connecticut (never in Virginia)..
