Joseph Henry Martin was born in Marshall county, Illinois, January 25th, 1859 and departed this life July 15th, 1926, aged 67 years, 5 months and 20 days. He came with his parents to Mitchell county, Kansas, in 1879. They moved to a farm north of Glasco in 1883. He was married to Bell Snyder, March 25th, 1885. To this union two sons were born, one of whom died in infancy.
They moved to Lane county, Kansas, where they spent eight years when (sic) they returned to Glasco and have lived in this vicinity since.
He was a good citizen and neighbor, an honorable, honest, upright man who was always ready to help the needy.
He was a charter member of the Advent Christian Church, and a member of the Modern Woodmen of America.
He leaves to mourn his loss, his wife, and son, Roy D., two grandchildren, Margarete and Max Martin; four brothers, Charles E. of Oak Hill, Kansas; Frank A. of Holly, Colo.; John D. and Cecil O. of Glasco and one sister, Mrs. Norman Jordan of Glasco, besides a host of relatives and friends.
