Biography

Mason Martin was born about 1798;[1] he was the son of Moses Martin and Sarah Singleton.

On 3 Aug 1834 in Washington County, Indiana,[2] Mason L. Martin married Harriet Martin.

In 1850,[1] Mason Martin (age 51, born Kentucky) was living in Jackson Township, Washington County, Indiana as head of household with his wife, Harriet Martin (age 35, born Kentucky), with their Martin children, all born in Indiana (age, sex): i) Alexander C. (14, M), ii) Lafayette (13, M), iii) Henry (9, M), iv) Luther (7,M), v) Emily (4, F), vi) Cassins M. C. (0, M), vii) Catherine (0, F); also in the household was Mary A. Strain (age 19, born Indiana).

In 1860,[3] Moses Martin (age 60, born Kentucky) was living in Vernon Township, Washington County, Indiana as head of household with his wife, Harriett Martin (age 46, born Kentucky), with their Martin children, born Indiana (age, sex): i) Lafayette (21, M), ii) Henry C. (19, M), iii) Matthew (16, M), iv) Emily (13, F), v) Catherine (10, F), vi) Sarah Jane (7, F), vii) Harriett (4, F); also in the household was Mary Martin (age 84, born Virginia).

In 1870,[4] Moses Martin (age 71, born Kentucky) was living in Vernon Township, Washington County, Indiana as head of household with his wife, Harriett Martin (age 56, born Kentucky), with their Martin children, born Indiana (age, sex): i) Catherine (20, F), ii) Sarah (17, F), iii) Harriett (14, F).

Moses Martin died on 3 Mar 1876, and he was buried in the Banks-Standish Cemetery, Washington County, Indiana.[5]
