Note N92The 1920 Census lists Gus as a carpenter on Railroad bridges. The 1930 census lists Gus employed as a carpenter working at Odd Jobs. I'm told that grandpa was visiting us in Rutland, VT when I was three or four years old (1949 or 50). He was sitting on the porch and our cat, Minkey, jumped on his back. He asked me to get the cat off his back. I did - by pulling her by her tail. Of course Minkey sunk her claws in grandpa's back and didn't let loose until grandpa was scratched all the way down his back. He wasn't angry with me. He just shook his head and said,"what a boy!" He must have been quite a guy.
