Martin-24487 and Martin-23834 appear to represent the same person because: Same name, same birthdate.

I'm not sure that this Joseph Martin, B: 1788, is the same as the Joseph Martin born in the same year that you suggest a merge. Joseph Martin-24487 is my 2nd great grandfather, confirmed by DNA testing and oral family history. So, your suggestion that the merge be put on hold pending further investigation, is correct.

Sincerely, Jeannette (Martin-Brideau) Saladino
