William MARTIN was born 1873 at Martin Vale Westbrook, Singleton New South Wales, Australia he was the son of Thomas Martin and Marianne Bryans. William died at Dangar Road, Singleton NSW in 1952 and married in 1902 to Susan SHEPHERD.

OBITUARY MR. W. MARTIN: Mr. William Martin, of "Brooklyn," Dangar Road, who with his wife celebrated the golden anniversary of their marriage in June, passed away at his residence yesterday evening. Mr. Martin had been in indifferent health for some time. He was 79 years of age. Mr. Martin had been a farmer and grazier, all his life and retired to live in Singleton in 1940. Born at Westbrook 1873 he was the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Martin of that district. His early manhood was spent on his grazing property, Martin Vale, at Westbrook, where he remained until his retirement. . He was married at the St. Mary Virgin Church of England, Glendon, on June 18, 1902, to Susan, a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Edmund Sheppard. Before he was married the late William Martin was a member of the N.S.W. Lancers, and was on guard in Sydney in 1901 when, the late King George V. came to Australia as the Prince of Wales to open the first Federal Parliament. The late William Martin is survived by his wife, Mrs. Susan Martin, and two daughters and three sons. They are Miss Letitia Martin, of "Brooklyn," Dangar Road, Isabella (Mrs. Cecil Lee (of Tamworth) William and Albert, of Westbrook, and Henry, of Belford. After a service at All Saints' Church tomorrow morning at 10 a.m., the cortege will leave for the Whittingham cemetery for interment. Messrs. Partridge Bros, are conducting the funeral arrangements.
