Biography

Jerome Martin, son of Thomas Martin and Charlotte Gignac; was born on the 1st of April 1822 and baptized the following day at Assumption Church, Sandwich (Windsor), Essex, Ontario, Canada. [1]

Jerome married Esther Apolline (Pauline) Tourangeau; daughter of Jacques James Tourangeau and Monique Boemier; on 30 May 1848 at Assumption Church, Sandwich (Windsor), Essex, Ontario, Canada. [2]

Esther and Jerome were blessed with 10 children:

  • Eglis Joseph Martin (4 Mar 1849)
  • Marcelline Marie (9 May 1850)
  • Alexandrine Josephine (25 Aug 1851)
  • Richard Thomas (28 Nov 1853)
  • Remi Elie (3 Apr 1855)
  • Julienne Martin Vigneux (1860- died in childbirth in 1885)
  • Marguerite Archange (25 Mar 1863)
  • Felix Henri (9 Dec 1865)
