According to descendants, Mary Wooldridge was born about 1735. She is the daughter of John Wooldridge. At the time of her birth the family was documented in Henrico County, Virginia.
In 1749, Chesterfield county was created from Henrico County where the family was documented after that date. Mary married John Martin in 1755.
On the 16th day of November 1780, John Wooldridge of Chesterfield County set his hand and affixed his seal to his Last Will and Testament leaving unto his daughter Mary Martin one Negro Fellow Cases [?] formerly in her husband John Martin's possession but since sold by him of whom I became the purchaser which said Negro is now in Possession of my son, Thomas Wooldridge, for the use hereafter mention I give to my said daughter Mary Martin and Cow & Calf, and unto his grand daughter Elizabeth Viers daughter of John Martin after the Decease of John Martin & his wife one Negro fellow Caler now in possession of my son, Thomas Wooldridge, also one cow & calf.[1]
Descendants claim she died in 1780.[citation needed]
