DNA Connections
It may be possible to confirm family relationships with Gershom by comparing test results with other carriers of his Y-chromosome or his mother's mitochondrial DNA. However, there are no known yDNA or mtDNA test-takers in his direct paternal or maternal line. It is likely that these autosomal DNA test-takers will share some percentage of DNA with Gershom:

The military record that is linked here is incorrect. It is for his son Gershom Martindale Junior. Note the date of the muster roll is 1778, Gershom Senior died in 1775.

I am looking for verified military or Patriotic service so as to use him as a SAR Ancestor.

It appears Gershom and Lemuel (Martindale-305) are twins since they were born on same day to same parents per birth records. This would be good to include in Gershom's bio.
