Samuel Mason, born July 1644 @ Windsor, Connecticut, was the second child of Anna (Peck), the second wife of Maj. John Mason.
In 1672, he inherited the western half of his father's acreage on the mainland as well as the eastern half of Mason's Island.
He married:
1) Jun 1670 Judith Smith, daughter of Capt. John Smith of Hingham, Massachusetts; they had 5 children
2) 4 Jul 1694 @ Stonington, Connecticut, Elizabeth Peck of Rehoboth, Massachusetts; they had 3 children
Samuel Mason died 30 Mar 1705 at Saybrook, Connecticut.
Research Notes: His name appears in early Stonington records in a formal capacity, as notary of deeds and officiant at wedding ceremonies.[1]
