Biography

Ida was born in 1871. She was the daughter of William Mason and Mary Tuttle. She passed away in 1960. [1]

On page 10 of the enumeration district 120 you find William N. Mason (48) with wife Mary E. (41) and children William J. (19), Nancy A. (17), John F. (16), Elender H. (14), Vlulus G. (11), Ida A. (9), Mary J. (6) and Davis A. (3). Also living with them is Elender H. Mason (69), his mother-in-law. William is a farmer and his wife is listed as “confined” in the census records. All show their birthplace and their parent’s birthplace as Kentucky. The family listed before them in the census records is the Lewis Berdit family.

1900 – Kentucky, Breckinridge, Cloverport, 13 Jun 1900
Family number 107 in the census is the George Beatty family. George W. (35) and wife Ida A. (28) along with son William M. (7), John H. (6) and daughter Viola (4) are living on the farm they rent. George is a farmer and living next door is likely his father, William Beatty and his wife Margarete. Also living with the William and Margarette are their grandchildren Clarence, Ruth, Stella and Viola all with the last name of Mitchel and their widowed daughter Fannie B. George and Ida have been married for 9 years and all three of their children are still living.

1910 – Kentucky, Breckinridge, District 2, 19 Apr 1910
Family number 30 in the census is the George Beatty family. George W. (45) and wife Ida A. (39) along with son William M. (17), John H. (16), daughter Viola M. (14) and son Roland H. (8) are living on the farm they own. George is a farmer, reporting that he and Ida have been married for 19 years and all four of their children are still living.

1920 – Kentucky, Breckinridge, Cloverport, 16 Jan 1920
Family number 7 in the census is the George Beatty family. George W. (55) and wife Ida A. (47) along with daughter Viola (24) and son Roland H. (18) are living on the farm they own on Hartford Road. George is farmer and Viola a teacher in the public school system. Everyone reports they and their parents were born in Kentucky.

1930 – Kentucky, Breckinridge, Cloverport, 9 Apr 1930
Family number 62 in the census is the George Beatty family. George W. (65) and wife Ida A. (59) along with son Merrell (37) are living on the farm they own on Victoria Road. George is farmer and Viola a teacher in the public school system. Everyone reports they and their parents were born in Kentucky. Merrell appears to be a pensioned soldier, perhaps from WW1.

1940 – Kentucky, Breckinridge County, Cloverport, District 14-7, 6 May 1940
Sheet 7A shows GW Beatty (75) and wife Ida (69) living together on a farm on Balltown Road. The farm is owned and valued at $400. Both report they have a 5th grade education and lived in the same place in 1935. Both report they were born in Kentucky. G.W. report to still be a farmer.
