Biography

Ola was born in 1907. She was the daughter of Alton Mason and Edna Richards. She passed away in 2003. ^[1]

Residence:

1910 – Kentucky, Hancock, Patesville, District 60, 2 May 1910 Family number 150 in the census is the Davis Mason family. Davis A. (33) and wife Edna (30) along with children Noal (11), Essie (5), Ola (2) and Elmer (9 mos.) are living on the farm they own on Roseville near Friendship Road. Davis is a farmer and the couple has been married 14 years and reports that 4 of their 6 children are still living. Everyone reports they and their parents were born in Kentucky.

1920 – Kentucky, Hancock County, Patesville, District 61, 26 Jan 1920 Alton (43) is now listed as a widow. Living with him are his children Essie (14), Ola (12), Zelma (10) and Nora C. (7). The farm is owned and Alton is a general farmer. The farm is located on the Cloverport-Fordsville Road.

1930 – Kentucky, Hancock County, Patesville, District 8, 4 Apr 1930 Sheet 2A shows Wayne Richards (26) and wife Ola (22) living on the farm the own valued at $500. Also living with them is Grand (Grant) Mason, her uncle (61) who is shown as single. Wayne reports to be a general farmer. All report they and their parents were born in Kentucky. The couple reports he was 21 and she was 16 when they married.

1940 – Kentucky, Hancock County, Other, District 46-8, Patesville, 20 Apr 1940 Sheet 10A shows Wayne Richards (36), his wife Ola (32) living on the farm they rent off of Cabot Road. The rent is $5. Wayne reports to have a 4th grade education and Ola a 7th grade one. The report they were living in the same place in 1935. Wayne reports to be a proprietor of a general store and earned $155 the previous year.
