Biography

Aaron Mason is the son of Daniel Mason, and his first wife, Experience (Newcomb) Mason. Aaron was a Cordwainer, which is the English term for a shoemaker who makes shoes from new leather.

Born in Charlestown, Masshacusetts, he was baptized there on September 2, 1733. He was married there, on October 24, 1752 to Abigail Reed (1731-1801) daughter of Ebenezer and Hulda Reed.

Aaron and Abigail made their home in Marlboro, Massachusetts, where all of their six children were born:

Aaron Mason, Jr. was born in Marlboro, September 27, 1753 and baptized in Burlington, Massachusetts, November 11, 1753;

Abigail Mason, born March 24, 1755;

Huldah Mason, born September 25, 1757;

Charles Mason, born March 28, 1759;

Moses Mason, born April 8, 1761;

Mary Mason, born in Marlboro, September 30, 1764, baptized in Burlington, October 7, 1764.
