Biography - Thomas Mason 1780

The following excerpt details that Thomas farmed on "Sugar Creek Prairie" in 1820 at the age of 40 with his first wife. See ref. below.

EDWARDS COUNTY HISTORY On Sugar Creek Prairie, Sections 23,24,25,and 26, Robert and Neal Carpenter, James and Charles Hensley, Daniel Williams, John Clark, William Hughs, George Cross, John Crawford, and Marcus Wilson settled in 1818, and in the following year this settlement was increased by the addition of James Parker and Abraham Morrell, and in 1820 by Thomas Mason, William Nash and his brother.

All of Thomas' children shown on Wiki can be sourced in MyHeritage but both Wiki & MyHeritage do not have a mother, but the birthdates are the same. Thus Thomas' first spouse remains unknown. Thomas then married Elisabeth Brander, a widow of Clemmons.

Elisabeth was born in the Brander family in Virginia. Her first marriage was to Clemmons who has not yet been found. Elisabeth at age of 45 married Thomas Mason Sept 1 1829, to care for at least 4 minor children of Thomas. Elisabeth had only one child Reuben with Thomas as she was past child bearing with the birth of Reuben in December 1830. See MyHeritage as below.

From the research sites below, failed to really pinpoint "Sugar Creek Prairie", except that in 1820 & after the county was split several times.
