Benjamin Mason first settled at Sherborn, but around 1764 or 1765 moved to Dublin, and at those dates, his name appears as having worked on the roads.
There he settled on Lot 14, Range 9, Monadnock, No. 3, and built a plank house at the top of the hill.
He was a master carpenter and framed most of the houses erected in the neighborhood in his day, and at raisings and the like was distinguished for his agility, fearlessness, and self-possession.
At the first town meeting held at Dublin, 1771, he was chosen selectman; at a meeting of the Proprietors of Monadnock, No. 3, April 1773, chosen one of a committee to receive and examine the accounts brought against the Proprietary,
March 4, 1774; appointed chairman of a committee of inspection to see that the Resolves of the Continental Congress be observed; listed as a voter in 1770, and on the tax list of 1771.
In 1777 he was admitted to the Church and being musically inclined was one of the leaders of the choir singers[13]
Served in the Revolutionary War.
"Benjamin Mason, private, 5th Co. N. H. On the payroll of Capt. Richard Weare's Co. in the 3rd Battalion of N. H. Forces commanded by Col. Alexander Scammell, enlisted January 22, 1777.
Also fifer, on the payroll of Capt. Salmon Stone's Co. in Col. Nichols' Regt. of New Hampshire Militia, Enoch Hale, Colonel, which company marched from Rindge in said State July 1777 and joined the northern Continental Army at Bennington and Stillwater.
Engaged July 21, 1777, discharged September 25, 1777. Service 2 mos., 5 days." (Reference, N. H. Revolutionary Rolls[14]

Benjamin was mentioned on a memorial in Dublin Town Cemetery, Dublin, Cheshire County, New Hampshire, United States with a death date of 5 July 1801.[15]
