Biography
Robert de Massy was born in 1094 or about 1101 in Dunham Massey, Cheshire, England.
Robert was a younger son of Hamon de Massy, baron of Dunham Massy.[1]
Robert had siblings:
- Hamon, second baron of Dunham Massy, older brother;[1]
Robert's father was the lord of Puddington township and then Robert held it by the service of one knight's fee.[1] Puddington or Podington was in the parish of Neston in Wirral hundred in Cheshire.[1]
Robert passed Puddington to his nephew John Massy.[1] John Massy gave Podington to his brother Hamon, the third baron of Dunham Massy, in exchange for lands in Moreton in the time of Richard I.[1]
