Anne Masson was born to Nicolas Masson and Martine-Bertine Duval in the parish of Notre-dame in Les Moitiers-d'Allonne in the arrondissement of Cherbourg, diocese of Coutances, Normandy.[1] Her year of birth varies from about 1638, based on her age at death[2] which is in keeping with her age of 44 years in the 1681 census.[3] One source believes she was born about 1642.[1]
Regardless, she boarded the ship, La Nouvelle France, along with a number of other "Filles du Roi" to sail to New France, arriving on 31 July 1670.[4] The following month she contracted marriage to Robert Gallien on 29 August 1670.[5] They then wed on the 8th of September 1670.[6]
Anne was hospitalized at the Hôtel-Dieu de Québec on 13 September 1690 and was discharged the 2nd of October 1690.[7][8] She was admitted there again on 27 August 1710 and died the 13th of September of the same year at the estimated age of 72 years.[2][8][9]

DNA Connections
It may be possible to confirm family relationships with Anne by comparing test results with other carriers of her mitochondrial DNA.
However, there are no known mtDNA test-takers in her direct maternal line.
It is likely that these autosomal DNA test-takers will share some percentage of DNA with Anne:
