Biography
Elizabeth Wait or Waite was born in Haldimand Township in 1854, daughter of Jonathan Wait and Sarah Ann Carey. Before 1875 she married ___ Stewart. In 1875 in Norham County she became Samuel Masters's third wife. In 1881 in Cramahe Township they had five of first wife Amanda's children, second wife Mary's son, and two of their own children. In 1901 in Wollaston Township, Hastings County, three of their own four children were at home, but in 1911 none. Samuel died in 1917. In 1921 Elizabeth was with her daughter Nellie Vader in Faraday Township. She died in Wollaston Township in 1930. She was buried at Trinity Church, Faraday Township, Hastings County.

Elizabeth was three years older than her stepson James.
Elizabeth's death was reported by her sister, Mrs. George Unger, of Faraday Township, Hastings County. This probably relates to the fact that Samuel and Elizabeth were buried in Faraday Township.
