Biography
John Matheny was born in Appalachia, in West Virginia.
Parents were John Wesley Matheny and Margaret Jane Gum. He married Martha M Jarvis about 1892. He worked as a janitor at the Salem High School.
His wife was nick named Mattie Jarvis. They had four children. They are Blanche L Fox, Everett Matheny, Gary Lester Matheny and Della Sweet Floyd. Blanche, Gary and Della are all buried in the same Odd Fellows cemetery with their parents.
