Elizabeth (Matheny) Hewitt was a pioneer settler in Oregon.
Biography
Elizabeth Matheny was born in Owen County, Indiana, 26 March 1823, the daughter of Daniel Matheny and Mary Cooper. She married Henry Hewitt; the Hewitts came with the Mathenys to Oregon in the wagon train of 1843.[1][2][3][4][5][6]
Elizabeth died in Yamhill County, Oregon 13 October 1899 and was buried in the Hopewell Cemetery.[7]

Parental relationships are confirmed by a triangulated group on 23andMe consisting of E D, M C, grandson of Eleeta Margaret Coats, B K, daughter of Jean Kerr, and Roger Shipman , who share 59 cM segments on chromosomes 4 and X. The most-recent common ancestors shared by all three are Daniel Matheny and Mary "Polly" Cooper.
