Notes

Register of Baptism civil and military Fort George (Niagara)July 12 1807 Roswell Mathews of Roswell and Hannah Mathews
This was an Anglican ceremony by the chaplain of the Armed Forces at the Fort. No witnesses/sponsors names given, no place of residence recorded.
Since Roswell senior was a well versed in construction trades one might speculate that he was engaged in construction in and around the Newark area - known today as Niagara-on-the-Lake, Ontario.
