Biography

Elizabeth Caroline Matthews was born on 5 May 1833 in Lincoln, North Carolina, United States, daughter of Anderson Matthews (1791–1868) and Elizabeth Copeland (1799–1889). [1]

Caroline (20) married James H. Smith (18) (born on 8 Jul 1835 in North Carolina) on 28 Feb 1854 in Cherokee, Georgia. [2] Their children were:

Caroline died on 12 Mar 1924 in Kensington, Walker, Georgia, United States, aged 90. She was buried in Shoal Creek Primitive Baptist Cemetery, Canton, Cherokee County, Georgia. [1]
