Susan Matthews was born February 5, 1804 in Virginia, to Simon Mathews and Mary Stamps.
She married Edwin Giles February 28, 1823, in Sumner County, Tennessee. They had eight children.
She passed away March 9, 1876, and is buried in Yeater/Cleveland Cemetery in St. Clair County, Missouri
