11 September 1850: Living in Breckinridge County, Kentucky in household of William Mattingly [1]
Her son, Thomas Harris, signed off on her death certificate #28623, and named her as Jane Alverson but the on-line death index shows her as Jesse Alverson, which is an error. Cause of death listed as chronic intestinal nephritis. She was buried in the Williams Cemetery near her brother Robert L.
Married twice - first to James Harris and second to Thomas Alverson.
She married James Harris and when he died she married Thomas J. Alverson, however records being like they were, a lot of people have her listed as Melosa J. Harris birth date 1852 and haven't put the connection together. The death certificate with the names of her father and mother listed was the proof. According to the 1900 census James and Jane had been married for 11 years, so one can assume this occurred in 1889. Thomas and Jane had one child together, Benjamin Harrison Alverson born 1890, although Melissa had 3 by her prior marriage to James Harris.
