Biography

William was born on March 1, 1821 in Washington County, Kentucky, the son of John Amos Mattingly and his wife, Mary Daily.

William Mattingly and Sarah Jane Rhodes were married about 1841.

He passed away on February 2, 1864, in Washington County, Kentucky, and is buried in St. Charles Cemetery in St. Mary, Marion County, Kentucky. A memorial page can be found on Find A Grave.

He is living in District 1, Marion County, Kentucky with his wife, Sarah J., 25, and children, John M. Mattingly, 7, Catharine Rodes, 5, Charles R., Mattingly, 4, Simeon Mattingly 2, and Mary Frances Mattingly, 0.[1]

1860 - United States Federal Census - In the 1860 census, Albin Mattingly, 39, is living in District 1, Marion County, Kentucky, with his wife Sarah J. Mattingly, 30, and their children, John Mattingly, 17; Catherine Mattinly, 16; Charles Mattingly 13; Simeon Mattingly, 12; Mary Mattingly, 10; Daniel Mattingly, 8; Edward Mattingly, 5; and Albion Mattingly, 2.[2]
