The 1850 Census is interesting, in that it shows him as the oldest in a grouping of his younger brothers and sisters.[2] But his mother and father, who are both still living, are enumerated as a separate household with older sister Nancy.[3]
The 1860 Census[4] shows him at age 33 with his wife and two children in "United States Census, 1860", database with images, FamilySearch (https://familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:MHZ1-L7G : 18 February 2021), Ervin Maupin in entry for James Hollinsworth, 1860.
The 1870 Census[5] shows him at age 44 with his wife and three children in Canaan Township, Gasconade County, Missouri.
The 1880 Census[6] shows him at age 53 with his wife and three children in Canaan Township, Gasconade County, Missouri.
He died in 1889, intestate (without a will), so on 29 Jul 1889, his son, William H. Maupin was appointed by the court as the administrator of his estate.[7]
