Southern Arkansas Biographical and Historical Memoirs, Sevier Co., Chapter 17, pg. 229-230:
Walter Maxey was a native of the Keystone State (whatever that is??) and was reared partly in the early day forts of that state. After his marriage, he moved to MS, where he received his final summons. He was with General Jackson in one of the earlier wars. His father was a Welshman, and one of seventeen brothers, all of whom served in the Revolutionary War.

Eleven known children were born to the union of Walter and Sarah.

Burial

Walter Maxey is buried in back of the Old Edward Maxey' farmhouse and homeplace.
Sometime in the 1950's, vandals removed and carried off the large headstone, but part of it was later recovered and preserved.
