According to his granddaughter's Wikipedia page: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Glenna_Goodacre, A 100-acre (0.40 km2) city park bears the name of Homer Maxey's father, James Barney Maxey (18811953), who was hence Glenna Goodacre's paternal grandfather. James Maxey was also a prodigious builder and civic leader in Lubbock and the South Plains.
