A. M. Maxey, Pioneer, Passed Away Friday Albert M. Maxey, who had lived in this part of Oklahoma County for nearly forty years, died at his home in the State Center District last Friday morning, after an illness of several months. He was in his 67th year. Funeral services, which were attended by hundreds of his friends, were held Sunday at 2 o'clock at the Jones Christian Church, Rev. J. C. Maples, pastor of the Harrah Baptist Church, officiating. Burial was in the Kolb Cemetery, near Spencer, with Henry Beveridge in charge. Albert Morgan Maxey was born January 18, 1868, in Platte County, Missouri, died December 14, 1934, at his home in the State Center District northeast of Jones, Oklahoma, at the age of 66 years 10 months and 26 days. He married January 31, 1894, to Ella Lieurance, in the county and state in which he was born. To this union six children were born, all of whom, with the wife, survive. The children are: Albert Jr., Clarence, and Walter, all of near Jones; Mrs. Ethel Miller, of Shamrock, Oklahoma; Mrs. Mabel Young, of near Luther; and Mrs. Beulah Manwell of Harlingen, Texas. There are eighteen grand-children, seven boys and eleven girls. In addition to his immediate family he is survived by a brother, G. D. Maxey of Pawnee, Oklahoma, and a sister, Mrs. Mary Beliel of Carney, Oklahoma. Mr. Maxey united with the Baptist Church at Little Platte, a country church in Platte County, Missouri, at the age of 24, and has since been a faithful and consecrated Christian.
