Mary Maxwell was the daughter of John and Agatha Agnes (Henry) Maxwell. She was born on December 31, 1803 in Elbert, Georgia. On December 6, 1832 she married Isham Hailey Teasley, Jr., the son of Isham and Jane (Adams) Teasley.
Mary and her husband would move from Elbert County, Georgia to Talbot County, Georgia in 1834 and then on to Cherokee County, Georgia.
Isham and Mary would have the following children:
Col. William Alfred Teasley, Sr. (1833-1908)
Nancy Jane (Teasley) Bingham (1836-1906)
Mary Ann (Teasley) Brewster (1842-1872)
Clorinda Uris (Teasley) Berlin (1843-1913)
John Isham Teasley (1848-1922)
Isham was a land and slave owner prior to the Civil War.
Mary died on July 22, 1851 in Alpharetta, Georgia and she and Isham, who passed away 31 years later are buried in the Maxwell Cemetery at Milton County (now Fulton County, Georgia) in Alpharetta.
