Biography

An Albert Maxwell was named as the executor for Andrew Maxwell in his will cited below in Cumberland, PA.

The last will and testament sourced below and written Dec 20, 1788, in Cumberland, Pennsylvania states Albert Maxwell left his plantation to the three children who were living with him at the time of his will — his son, William Maxwell, son Andrew Maxwell, and daughter, Margaret Maxwell. He also bequeathed another plantation which it states was currently in the possession of a James Hacket (sp?) to his other five children, James Maxwell, Alexander Maxwell, Robert Maxwell and Ann Maxwell alias Taylor, and Mary Maxwell alias Woodbury, with instructions that it was to be sold and the proceeds divided equally between the other five children.

Research note: No clear link can be found to connect these individuals to this family tree with assurance. The Maxwell DNA study appears to have possibly shown a connection to this Albert and Andrew, but farther up the line; also, DNA connections have been found in the Chester, PA, area. We do know through the DNA Study that our line is descended from the Maxwells of Tinwald. Research is ongoing.
