Coordinates: 36d 17m 18.0s N; 80d 51m 24.4s W Click here for Google maps Directions: From intersection of NC Hwy 21 (aka North Bridge St) and NC Hwy 21 Bypass and Brookfall Dairy Rd (SR 1157) in North Elkin, go west on Brookfall Diary Rd (runs along north side of Wal-mart store) for .1 mile to the truck entrance to the Wal-mart store. Turn into the truck entrance and immediately on the left is the cemetery enclosed in a fairly recent new chain link fence. Surveyed by Joe Hicks on June 24, 2007. Also known as: Indian Burial Place. Township or district: Elkin. Public or Private: Private property. GPS Accuracy (ft.): 14. Elevation above sea level (ft.): 1114. Status of cemetery: Currently maintained. Surry County Parcel Number: 4952-00-38-0274. According to previous land owners who sold the property to this shopping center, the cemetery has always been rumored to be an Indian burial place but it was a Maxwell family of three that were buried there. (Could both be true?). Lots of rocks piled up into mounds that look like petrified wood of some sort.
