Biography

When James Jarvis Maxwell was born on February 2, 1802, in Mecklenburg, North Carolina, his father, Robert, was 36 and his mother, Elizabeth, was 24. He married Margaret Wallace on February 8, 1823, in his hometown. They had seven children in 16 years. He died in July 1870 in Morning Star, North Carolina, at the age of 68, and was buried in Mint Hill, North Carolina.
