Biography
John Maxwell was born about May 1777 in Pennsylvania, United States, son of Robert Maxwell (~1750 - ~1818) and Emelia Scoggin (~1750 - ~1824).
The following children were listed in his father’s, Robert Maxwell’s Will: John Maxwell, James Maxwell, Robert Maxwell, William Maxwell, and Thomas Maxwell; and the personal property be divided between his six daughters, Polly Maxwell intermarried with Jacob Michell, Isabela Maxwell intermarried with Andrew Carson, Rachel Maxwell intermarried with John Hammond, Emmy Maxwell intermarried with Samuel Doyle, Jane Maxwell intermarried with John Doyle, and Catherine Maxwell intermarried with Joshua Rifsel (sp ?)."
John married Eleanor Davidson (1778 - 1842) in 1798. Their son was Robert Maxwell (1799 - 1876).
John died after Aug 1860 in Wayne Township, Jefferson, Ohio aged >83.
