Research Notes

Died in hospital, Columbus, MS and is buried there. This marker is just a memorial marker.

Death date is wrong on this marker. I have a copy of a letter written from his mother to his father in October 1862, telling details of his death that year in Columbus, MS -- died of flux (diarrhea or dysentery). He actually has a marked grave in Canton (Madison County), MS.
