This is the New York Emigrant Family consisting of Pete May & his wife Dorita (Magdelaine?). They came to New York on Captain Johann Ranneld's ship in the 3rd party in Holland in 1709. On the ship's roll he is listed next to Reysdorff & family. Johann Peter was probably from Niederhausen, Germany [need proof of this]. Johann Peter made his first appearance on Hunter lists 4 Aug 1710 with 2 persons over 10 yrs of age & 3 persons under 10. The family showed 3 over 10 & 3 under 10 on 31 Dec 1710; 3 persons over 10 & 2 under 10 on 31 Mar 1711, & 2 persons over 10 on Dec 1711. The 25 Mar 1712 entry went down to 1 over & 2 under 10, then returned to 2 over 10 & 2 under 10 on 24 Jun 1712.
Peter was naturalized on 8 & 9 Sep 1715 (Kingston Flats) Peter Mayen's widow was noted with 3 children at Hunterston in 1716/1717 (Simmendinger Register). Doritee Mayen was a Palatine debtor in 1718 and 1721 (Livingston Debt Lists).
The Dalsheim register, which begin in 1692 for Reformed & 1706 for Lutheran, call the wife of Johann Peter May, Magdalena. By his first marriage his children were Peter b 1700; Johann Phillip baptized 24 Sep 1702, Johann Jacob baptized 22 Mar 1705 & Christian Ludwig baptized 23 Oct 1707.
